Tax Information

Deadlines

  • VAT  -  25th of each month, or, the last weekday before the 25th, if the 25th falls on a weekend.
  • PAYE, SDL & UIF 7th of each month, or, the last weekday before the 7th, if the 7th falls on a weekend.


Registrations.

  • Close Corporation changes - CK2 & CK2A:
    To change the members or any other detail of an existing close corporation, please complete the CK2 above in black ink.   To change from one accounting officer to another on an existing close corporation, please sign the attached CK2A (all existing members to sign).
    Send us the original signed CK forms and supporting documents in order to do the necessary changes at the Registrar's Office.
  • VAT (Value Added Tax) - VAT101:
    It is compulsory to register for VAT when your turnover exceeds R300,000 per year or approximately R25,000 per month.
    Please complete and sign the VAT101 form and return to us with the following supporting documentation:
    -  A copy of the entity's registration documents
    -  Copies of ID's of all members/directors of the entity
    -  Proof of address (ie: water & electricity account; telkom account)
    -  Original letter from bank or a cancelled cheque as proof of entity's bank account.
  • PAYE (Paye As You Earn) - EMP101:
    This registration is compulsory for the members of a close corporation.
    Please complete and sign the EMP101 form and return to us with the following supporting documents:
    -  A copy of the entity's registration documents
    -  Copies of ID's of all members/directors of the entity
    -  Proof of address (ie: water & electricity account; telkom account)
    -  Original letter from bank or a cancelled cheque as proof of entity's bank account.
  • Workmans Compensation - WCA:
    This registration is compulsory if you have employees in your employment.  If an employee gets hurt while in your employment, the claim can be submitted directly to the Compensation Commissioner for the medical bill.


Close Corporation/Trust/Company Tax Returns

The financial year-end is stipulated on the registration documents of the close corporation and the company.

Please send us all your details to register you on our e-filing system, or if you have already registered on your own send the log-in details for your e-filing.

Annual Financial Statements

Info required for completion of the annual financial statements and the tax return are as follows:

  • Bank statements for the year under review
  • Sales invoices/Fee income invoices
  • Purchase invoices
  • Credit card statements and slips
  • Cash purchases - slips and invoices
  • Contracts of the purchase of any assets on hire purchase agreements
  • Payments of wages
  • Salary info
  • VAT Returns if applicable
  • List of assets in the entity
  • Debtor list as at year end
  • Creditors list as at year end

 

Individual Tax Returns - E-Filing

Financial year-end runs from 1 March to 28/29 February of each year.
Please send us all your details to register you on our e-filing system, or if you have already registered on your own send the log-in details for your e-filing.

 

Information Required to Submit Tax Returns

  • IRP5's (as well as the IRP5 received when lump sum was received)
  • IT3(a)'s
  • Medical Aid Certificate
  • Retirement Annuity Certificates
  • Rental Income & Expenses
    For Example:
    -  Bond statements
    -  Levies paid
    -  Repairs and maintenance invoices
  • Interest Income Certificate
  • Log Book Details (if you received a travel allowance)
    For Example:
    -  make and model of the vehicle
    -  cost price of vehicle
    -  registration number
    -  odometer meter readings beginning and ending of year under review if no logbook was kept.
  • Any other detail that you received that is related to your taxable income or deductions.
  • The submission of income tax for individuals is normally due in July of each year.
